Jersey Mike’s Subs check presentation to NMCRS Little Creek staff members.

To celebrate its first location on a military base, Jersey Mike’s Subs on Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story held a fundraiser for the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society. Owner and operator Tristan Lee said his employees distributed thousands of flyers on base advertising the sub shop’s February 14 opening and including a coupon. For every coupon a customer used in the store, Jersey Mike’s donated a dollar to the Society, raising a total of $2875.

Jersey Mike’s Subs has opened nearly 1,600 locations around the world, including several others in Virginia Beach. The Little Creek store is located within the Navy Exchange food court, making it especially easy for service members to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner while they’re at work.

While this is Jersey Mike’s first fundraiser for the Society, the chain has a proud history of giving back to the community and hopes to continue to partner with the Society in the future. “We’ve worked with the USO before and other organizations that support the military,” Lee said. “We love to find ways to partner with and give back to the military. We understand that the military is really important to this community.”
